"Much is made of Pinot Noir’s flavors and mouthfeel, deservedly so. But sometimes its aromatics are missed by the critics. It takes a wine like this to make you appreciate that olfactory beauty. This wine opens with a Beethovian blast of raspberries, cherries and French oak, with spicy notes reminiscent of black tea, cola, anise and cloves. These pure, clean complexities reprise in the mouth, where the savoriness is balanced by excellent acidity and firm but silky tannins. The long finish promises ageability.
